چکیده
Today, an ethnobotanical approach makes sense for identifying new active bioactive chemicals from uses of indigenous plants. Two water-soluble enriched polysaccharide fractions (L-PSPN and S-PSPN) were extracted by hot water extraction the leaves seeds Plantago ciliata Desf. (1798), a Mzab herb currently used in Algeria traditional healers. Primary investigation was performed describing main structural features these polysaccharides (pectin- heteroxylan-like compositions) using colorimetric assays, FTIR spectroscopy, HPAEC/PAD GC/MS-EI analyses. Some biological activities also monitored, such as anticomplement, anti-inflammatory (phagocytic ability, NOX2 MPO inhibitions) anti-diabetic (α-amylase α-glucosidase inhibitions). L-PSPC seems able to moderately modulate innate immune system (IC50 around 100 µg/mL) contribute wound-healing processes close 217 vs. 443 µg/mL sodium heparin). S-PSPC shows some potential anti-hyperglycemic 4.7 mg/mL) ranging 111 203 agent, well other (fiber) psyllium-like species.

Comparative Study of Essential Oils Extracted from Algerian Myrtus communis L. Leaves Using Microwaves and Hydrodistillation
Two different extraction methods were used for a comparative study of algerian myrtle leaf essential oils: solvent-free-microwave-extraction (SFME) and conventional hydrodistillation (HD). Essential oils analyzed by GC and GC-MS presented 51 components constituting 97.71 and 97.39% of the total oils, respectively. Solvent-Free-Microwave-Extract Essential oils SFME-EO were richer in oxygenated c...
متن کاملStructural Investigation of Cell Wall Xylan Polysaccharides from the Leaves of Algerian Argania spinosa.
Xylan-type polysaccharides were isolated from the leaves of Argania spinosa (L.) Skeels collected in the Tindouf area (southwestern Algeria). Xylan fractions were obtained by sequential alkaline extractions and purified on Sepharose CL-4B. The xylan structure was investigated by enzymatic hydrolysis with an endo-β(1→4)-xylanase followed by chromatography of the resulting fragments on Biogel P2,...
متن کاملIsolation and Characterisation of Actinobacteria from Algerian Sahara Soils with Antimicrobial Activities
Extreme ecosystems can be a source of untapped micro-organisms able to produce novel bioactive compounds of industrial interest. Consequently, in this work, 32 Actinomycetes were isolated from 6 soil samples collected from Algerian Sahara in searching for untapped producers of novel antimicrobial compounds. All the isolates were further subjected to antimicrobial screening against pathogenic ba...
متن کاملThermal and Antioxidant Properties of Polysaccharides Sequentially Extracted from Mulberry Leaves (Morus alba L.).
Polysaccharides from natural plant products are gaining considerable attention due to their multi-faceted health effects, as well their functional applications in food production. We reported the sequential extraction of mulberry leaf polysaccharides (MLPs) with hot buffer (HBSS), chelating agent (CHSS), dilute alkali (DASS) and concentrated alkali (CASS), in order to obtain polysaccharide frac...
